Osteoporosis is a condition that causes bones to become fragile and weak, increasing the risk of breaks and fractures. When someone has osteoporosis, a minor fall, bump, sudden movement, or sneeze can cause a fracture. Any fracture or break of a bone can be life-threatening and may put someone at risk of disability and/or reduced function.

Globally, 1 in 5 men, and 1 in 3 women aged over 50 will suffer an osteoporotic fracture. Osteoporosis can be prevented if action is taken early!
