Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive podiatry assessments for residents in RACFs.
- Provide routine and complex foot care, including nail care, skin integrity management, and management of high-risk feet.
- Assess and manage foot-related pain, mobility issues, and lower limb conditions impacting balance and function.
- Identify and manage foot-related risk factors contributing to falls.
- Prescribe and recommend appropriate footwear, orthotics, and pressure offloading strategies where required.
- Collaborate with care staff, GPs, and other allied health professionals to ensure holistic resident care.
- Educate residents, families, and staff on foot health, footwear, and preventative care strategies.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with aged care standards and compliance requirements.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Podiatry.
- Full AHPRA registration as a Podiatrist.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, resident-focused approach.
- Ability to work autonomously within an aged care environment.
